While We Were Away

I'm not sure why I was so worried about leaving our boys while we went to Hawaii. They had a great time with their grandparents - they probably were having too much fun to even miss us. Grandma Nebeker came up and stayed with the boys here for one night, then took them down to her house. They stopped at the Bass Pro Shop on the way, which apparently has lots of fun things for them to see (like fish, deer skeletons, and various mounted animals) so they were in little boy heaven. Once at G and G Nebeker's, they got to go swimming at the pool they are members at (twice), play with their daddy's old Legos, do a project with Grandpa, and play games with Grandma. On Sunday they were handed off to my parents for some more adventures. My parents took them swimming at my sister's house one day, and because my parents are amazing (and brave ... and perhaps a bit crazy) they took our boys AND my sister's 2 boys (yes, 5 boys in all) to Monterey one day.  And they didn't even lose any of them! :)
Of course, the highlight of the Monterey trip was playing on the beach.  They didn't even mind that it was cold - apparently they all still got pretty wet!
I love this close-up of Adam (good job, Mom!).  You can see his cute little freckles.
My parents said Kyle was determined to drag this large piece of wood out of the water.
They loved spending time with their cousins!
Climbing on the rocks is always fun  - I remember my sister and I doing the same thing not so long ago.
They also went to a really fun park in Monterey - here are Jack and my dad on a bridge there.  And Jack amazed me because when we left, he was calling his grandparents "Ama" and "Papa," and when I came back, he was saying "Gamma" and "Gampa"!  Quite an improvement.
I hope our kids realize how lucky they are to have such wonderful grandparents!
