Does Jack just look too cool in his shades or what? Well, this kid is too cool.
Too cool for:
1.) Diapers. That's right, Jack-e-boy has ditched the diapers. Well, not willingly. Mommy and Daddy decided that when you can barely fit into the largest size they make, it's time to say good-bye. And today (after 3 1/2 weeks) he had his first completely accident-free day! And amazingly, he even stays dry at naps and during the night! What a rock star. Though potty training is very high on my list of least-favorite-things-in-the-world (especially with a new baby in the house), I am happy to now have only ONE child left in diapers. Woohoo!
Too cool for:
2.) Bedtime. This guy loves to sneak out of his room when he's supposed to be sleeping. If I let him nap past 3:00 in the afternoon (because really, who wants to wake a peacefully sleeping, quiet child?) he is guaranteed to be coming out of his room over and over after bedtime (some nights until 10:00!)
Too cool for:
3.) The baby room. He has officially moved into the "Big Kid Room" with Adam and Kyle. We moved Asher out of our room and into his crib last week, and decided to put all three older ones together for now so Asher wouldn't keep Jack up at night (or vice versa). It has actually been good, and has helped with #2 on the list. Jack doesn't sneak out of his room as much now that he sleeps with his big brothers.
Too cool for:
4.) Help. With pretty much anything. Buckling in his car seat, washing his hands, putting his shirt on, etc. I constantly hear, "I want to do it myself" or "It's my turn!" or "Let me do it!" Even though sometimes he can't do certain things and gets frustrated, he still doesn't want help. Sometimes if I lift him into the van (usually because I'm in a hurry) he'll have to climb back out so he can get in himself.
It's so much fun watching him learn, grow, and become more independent. I love this cool kid!
